Now for the Dj Xeon review :)

Ok, here we go.
Starts al peaceful, epic pads, relaxing and angelic sounds. Very ambient. Very soothing. Sounds a little like some of Above and Beyond's stuff the begginning. :) I like it!
Hear that lead start to fade in...
Then bang straight into it!
Firstly im not sure i like the actual lead. It might just be the sound, or the melody it's playing.. Doesnt get my 100%
Then the rest of the song is alright..
Taking into consideration that this is only a experimental/demo and that im playing it through my tinny laptop speakers, i dont think im giving it justice, but i dont think i like the blend of the ambient pads and the 2nd half/main part of the song.
I did like the gated effect though!
I would totally make this ambient, like a soundscape.
So summing it all up. Love the pads, hate the lead, can see the potential of Massive :)
I want to hear more work with Massive - project comet or somthing? :P

It's pretty versitale (??) and very easy to use unlike some other synths, especially FM based oh well.
like i said, i'm not sure if wwill be able to finish it. We'll see. ill finish project comet first :p ( maybe with some virus )

Another Review From Guess Who?

Heres the review I owe you for the review of mine lol.

So... Your probably thinking OMG 7/10? WTH Dj Xeon what is wrong with you!?

Firstly... Here's what i gotta say. I thought this song was quite retro. For me it had a retro feel to it. The ideas seemed quite simple and plain. First example - Piano. Ok piano is just a simple idea, awesome, catchy, but thats how piano leads were a while ago in some old retro tunes take Children - Robert Miles for an example. Was expecting something more developed like Shipwrecked - Mike Foyle, but i can see the calm soft effect you were going for :).
Also i got the retro feel to it during the middle! Yeah here was what was going on, i was listening, then the middle at end of the main breakdown, and you introduced the new idea at 3:30, it felt like mixing 2 whole different songs together, i really thought it was a diff song, then i saw how it fitted together. But yeah kinda, gave me a retro feel, didnt see much variation as i would have liked, like a new modern touch.

Next to say is that the feel of the song. Love the break with the piano, VERY emotional feelings evoked there... Ummm the lead. This comes under criticism... LOL. Im not sure what it is, i that i wasa expecting somewhat of a different sounding lead from you in this soft song, it kinda didnt hit the x-factor for me :) When you said dreamy soft trance was kinda expecting something like above and beyond, but in a way you made it your own, which is what i like to see!

Personally for me, the tune is a good chillout song, calm and peaceful, but it couldve been made better, i'dve like to have seen a bit more ambient elements to it. You couldve taken it in quite the opposite way though and made this quite a hard dancey song, and i can hear how that version would sound, but i like what you've done with this.

Ahhh... Next. Um.. Oh yes. :)
You're quite new to the trancey scene, so i cant criticise you that much, so yeah. :). Skill wise i think this is quite a turn in your musical style and im liking what i hear, lots of nice sounds that blend really well so kudos for that.

So in conclusion of all of this, good song, reached the desired effect, but not catchy enough for me, and in ways it could have been better.

Oh, and i thought you knew better FireBolt uploading on zerobomber tuesday!! What were you thinking! Shud deduct another star from you for that!

First of all, what's wrong with retro? I understand that's it not origenal or innovative but still :/. I can see your point though.

then what lead where you expecting :/. I think it fitted nicely, it kinda was the overall mood i was trying to get.

In short, i'm trying trance because i simply don't want to make stuff like End of Summer, even if it got popular and people thought it was good. Well i didn't :/.
I think this track and Wings is a milestone for my producing skills and i enjoy making it :). Trance is awesome. What do you think? I really did improve since 'End of summer'. And besides, i finally got some inspiration back =3. You have might hit rock bottom but i just recovered from that. So goodluck xeon hope you will produce soon.

I was totally not expecting your next song to be DNB!!

Great song man, even though not being much of a DNB fan, its quite awesome :) Got a few typical Firebolt leads in there too though - loving the melodies!

Only thing, for me, is that it not that catchy.. :( Dont have a solid melo that will stick like your previous songs.

Nevertheless, glad to see you working on music!

it's always fun to experiment :D And i always liked DnB so why not. It didn't turned half as good as i want to (Pendulum anyone?) but hey first try :P.
Well apperently i have my own little Firebolt Flavour so they sound a bit like me.
:( well i know what you mean with lack being catchy. Altough the last bit comes close it isnt really what it could be! And to be honest, i didn't had anything in mind when starting this. i just made a beat and some bassline and rolled with it. I could probably make better DnB if i would focus on it more ( So that might be next month :D ).
Firebolt back in action , loss of motivation/inspiration was probably due the winter or something i don't know.

Pump up the speed, it doesnt flow in parts. And work on percussion, its very poor.

Great!

Okay, well let me just get one thing straight. This song is immense. Really. The melodic ideas, the whole piece worked, and it is fantastic,
But i have my critiscisms:
1. I thought the introduction took too long to get to the break down.
2. I was expecting something more epic after the build-up
3. i didnt like the snare roll in the break down.

But dont get me wrong here, this is incredible and keep it up. Those are just minor things i didnt like, this is amazing! 101/10 5/5 and Downloaded!

Keep in mind that this track is a year old, so chances are any flaws it has I won't be making again. ;)

1. Keep in mind that club mixes (like this song) almost never reach the break before the two-minute mark, it's kind of an unwritten rule I've noticed.

2. Understandable but nothing I can do about that now. I've become a lot better at tension and release over the past year so you won't see that problem with my music in the future.
